Canon EOS 5D Mark III - Finally announced!

It's here! Well, almost. The 5DMkIII has been announced, with many of the expected specs:
  • 22MP full frame CMOS sensor
  • ISO 100-25600 standard, 50-102,800 expanded
  • 6 fps continuous shooting
  • Shutter rated to 150,000 frames
  • 1080p30 video recording, stereo sound via external mic
  • 61 point AF system
  • 63 zone iFCL metering system
  • 100% viewfinder coverage
  • 1040k dot 3:2 LCD
  • Dual card slots for CF and SD
While it appears that the specs are not that far off from the current 5D Mark II, many of the internals have been completely reworked.  The 61-point AF system is pretty much the same as the one in the EOS 1D X, and the now 100% viewfinder is larger than before, with a translucent LCD for in-viewfinder information.

While some critics believe this camera does not beat the recently announced Nikon D800, we'll have to wait for the side-by-side comparisons to really know. Either way, I'm excited about it!

Several camera outlets already have it available for pre-order, get yours from Adorama today!
